End of the road for General Motors

GM bankruptcy is end of an era. At one time in 1979 they had 511,000 employees, now they have 54,000. Last month sales of new cars were down 45% compared to last year which was horrible; only Chrysler did worse with sales down 52%, sales of the ill fated iconic Hummer were down 67%.

It truly is a sad day for america as its largest manufacturer closes its doors. The giant automaker made possible for many in labour to enjoy a comfortable life. However, now instead of america workers making 50 dollars an hour, we shall see chinese workers making 50 cents an hour. Times are a changing.
