Google co-founder Larry Page ideas on the future

Larry Page the creator of the "Page" rank algorithm that powers Google has a few ideas on how the future can be made a better place.

1) Computer controlled cars
This is a good idea and one which we should see in the future. A way to decrease the number of fatalities on roads as well as decrease the amount of time it takes to get people to the destination.

2) Ultra Light Planes instead of roads
I love this idea, but it does not seem very logical. We would all have to become pilots. Landing a plane is scary for me, and I was in aerospace call were we had a training airplane.

3) Solar Power Stations in Nevada
Again, a great idea. With energy hungry California close by this one might make it. I think that solar power is a big deal in the future. We can hope more people start to work on creating solar power that is cost effective.

4) Wind Power in North Africa
This idea is grand, but I would think that solar would be better. Still, wind turbines are very efficient and cost effective now so they could be used to generate power. The problem is that wind generated power is more expensive than power generated using {coal, oil, or gas}.

Larry Page has a lot of good ideas. I hope he uses some of his vast wealth to turn them into reality.
