Great Depression 2.0?

Unemployment is at a 16 year high, manufacturing at a 60 year low. Foreclosures are up 81%, and our economic crisis is getting worse.

When americans lose their jobs they cannot pay for houses, this in turn causes banks to fail and property prices to fall. As property prices fall the banks are loaded with worthless properties that they cannot sell. It is a perfect storm.

This was cause by offshoring and outsourcing work to countries like China and India. All those factories that move to China and businesses that send programming jobs to India now find that the US is falling apart.

Another DOWn Day

The stock markets were DOWn today almost 250 points on news of weak retail sales and Citigroup fell 20%. Things seem to get worse all the time. There is now talk that Citigroup may not survive without additional bailout money.

Banks in trouble - AGAIN!

Citigroup today was down over 20% as people worry if the bank can survive. Vikram Pandit may have to resign. The bank already go 45 billion in bailout money and needs more. Taxpayers are angry that the bank bailout money did not rescue citigroup.

Nortel files chapter 11 bankrupcy protection today.

Its stock went from $1,100 per share in mid 2000 to seven cents today. This was once the largest company in Canada. Let that be a lesson to all. Many thought that this high tech wonder would rule in the future, but instead it is on its way out. In fact, with our current global economic crisis we will see many more companies bite the dust as we go into financial catastrophe.

I predict a complete collapse of the financial system will take place and that skeptics will become believers.

Aircraft of the future

NASA has some near future aviation concept vehicles that we might see soon. Due to budget constraints we have seen little now, but as science advances there may yet be new uses for rocket travel. Perhaps we will live in a world quite different from our own.

Flying car is real

Here is a real flying car that is road able and uses regular unleaded gasoline. It goes from car to plane in 15 secs. This incredible vehicle can do the impossible by acting as both a car and an airplane, our dream is finally real. True, the flying car is expensive, but it could be in specialty automobile showrooms in 18 months.

Ford to build electric car

GM has the volt, Toyota has the EV, and now Ford is tossing its hat into the electric car ring. Ford wants to build an electric car to be able to compete as other companies go green in tune to a new initiative by Obama to produce cars that are more efficient and use less fossil fuels.

As fuel supplies run out we will be able to move to electric cars that are power using wind and solar. The future can be bright for electric cars.

What was the Great Depression like?

I have talked to people that lived through the Great Depression. They call it the awful depression and told me horror stories of starvation and suffering. It was a time like no other. They do not have pleasant memories of the 30's. The music of the times is sad and so the the photos. Here are photographs of the Great Depression.

Keep the land line

Want to get rid of your land line? Well, police want to be able to jam all cell phones during the next terror attack. You will be phone less if you use a wireless. I learn that during disasters due to the volume of calls cell phones rarely work. Also, that is when you need your cell the most.

Keep this in mind if you believe that the land line is ol skool. The day may come when you need to make a call and can't.

Electric cars 100 years ago?

Yes, back in 1909 there were over 1000 Baker Electrics in New York City. These cars were popular with young ladies who did not like the noise and smoke of gasoline cars. Edison pushed for electric cars. Alas, big oil back then killed the electrics and today we have a polluted world.

The dream back then was street cars and electrics tooling down the streets powered with electricity from hydro and wind mills. Yes, they had wind generators back then. Which were popular in farms away from the city. The Baker Electric which could go over 100 miles on a single charge shows us how little we did move forward. The road ahead is uncertain, but we have choices; we can do nothing, or we can embrace electric cars.

Cell phone wristwatch

The future really is here. The futuristic Dick Tracey watch that was also a telephone is no longer science fiction - no it is quite real. Cell phone wristwatch is making a come back as people want the convenience of a watch and the power of a phone. This means that we now longer have to wait for this gadget, it is here.

new way in 2009

I shall embark on a course in uncharted waters as we set sail for a new frontier. 2009 will be fine for those that are ready. I see that many worry about the future. Well, worry is where the negatives develop. The important thing is a plan of action. That is what we will outline in the days to come.

Dow unable to hold above 9,000

This is a very sad sign of the times, even with an Obama stimulus package that gives every american $500. Wall Street is in trouble. People fear our severe recession will turn into a deep depression.

In other news, Apple admits that Steve Jobs has serious health issues due to a hormone imbalance that causes his body to lose protein. People did worry that the pancreatic cancer was back.

Moneyyard

Moneyyards are running low on the green. For example the biggest moneyyard of all, the financial capital of the world New York City, is now facing even more decline in the dollar and bankrupt banks. This can only take us down into a deep depression.

It is a time of troubles we are now in that makes moneyyards so important. Without money, no houses are built, no business can operate. It is true that we need to have extra reserves, and these can serve as a reservoir during a drought. However, we spent our money and now have no reserve.

I see dark days ahead for america.

Militarization of NASA

The merger of NASA and the military to save money could be a slippery slope. We may soon see military bases on the moon. Space wars could be not that far off. A "star trek type" future with battlestars fighting it out could be our next step.

euro replaces dollar

I believe that the euro will replace dollar as world reserve currency. The implications for the US are staggering. Many do not understand that the world is getting tired of supporting a country that produces less and less. The future is frugal.

minimum wage

The State of Ohio raises minimum wage to $7.30/hour. This is important because I predict that inflation will pick up in 2009 as the multi trillion dollar deficit hits. The US gov has been printing a lot of green pieces of paper.

Worst year since depression

They say 2008 was the worse year since the great depression. I agree, the problem is that things are going to get worse. Expect unemployment to go up, the price of houses to go down. I mean with more people out of work in 2009 what did you expect?

As always the band aids will not fix the problem. Look at GM, will a few billion cause them to build high quality cars that people want to buy? You already know the answer. If the people want huge expensive Hummers, then GM is the place to go. However, people need small fuel efficient vehicles, like a Yaris.

2009 will be what we know is coming - IMPACT!

consumer confidence at all time low

As the job market gets worse, consumer confidence in the Dec hit an all time low. It is as if the bad news just gets worse. When we were around at this time last year, I predicted that things would be bad in 2008 and get worse in 2009. Still, it is almost like things are getting worse on a daily basis. In fact, we went from a nasty November to a dismal December.

recap for 2008

Today at midday the DOWn Jones Industrial Average was DOW 120 points. However, it trimmed its losses to only about 32 points. For the year the Dow lost 36%, the S&P 41%, and the NASDAQ 43%. Please remember that Bernie Madoff was the former chairman of the NASDAQ. This crook stole 50 billion from charities, but compared to the banksters that took 750 billion of the people's money he is small potatoes.

US retail traffic down 24%

What sounds like a scratched CD or a broken records, I must repeat, US retail sales down 24%. This Christmas was terrible. Sales were horrible, weather was awful, and now many stores and malls are closing. Store owners are telling me that sales are way down and that they have trouble paying their rent.

Expect things to get worse in 2009 as the economic crisis goes from bad to worse. Using remote viewing it is possible to see future events and so far the road ahead look really bad, as in no food in grocery stores and no fuel at the filling station.

99 years later Woolworth closes its doors

Sadly there was no bailout for the storied retailer or its 27,000 employees. Woolworth was always a good corporate citizen, but instead tax payer money goes to bail out the banksters that cause our current economic crisis.

It is sad to see retail giant Woolworths close its doors. Hope that we can all learn to be frugal and use care when spending money. It was mounting debt that crushed the ratailer.

Can the Fed fix the recession?

It seems that we are entering uncharted waters. Finally a recession so strong that the power of the Fed cannot stop it. This ugly recession is worse than others before it. That is because it is a depression. It is more than a few jobs lost. Whole industries will fall apart. Entire towns will fail. For many this is the beginning of th time of troubles.

Hot Cocoa?

It is often on a cold Christmas morning that people like to drink some hot cocoa. Well, that is not a good idea, you see they just found melamine in cocoa. A giant recall due to this toxic substance that now seems ubiquitous in our supply of treats. I believe that cows were given feed with melamine and this causes kidney disease in people. Probably some of the powdered milk mix got in the French Vanilla Cocoa.

People in the future will have to plant their own food due to contamination. John Titor did warn us of this problem. We must remain ever watchful.

What ancient peoples can tell us

We know that the Tazmanians who greeted explorers in the 1600's were a primitive people. Tazmanians had no fire, clothes, or pottery. They lived in crude shelters made of sticks and grasses. Sadly, most were wiped out by the colonists. Today, we know little about their language or culture.

It is important for people to realize that things in the future will be what we make them. Many people believe that we always had the wheel, but the empires of mesoamerica did not use the wheel. There are many discoveries that are held back by people not having a mind open to new possibilities.

Pottery benefits from the pottery wheel and you need fire to harden the soft clay. To make certain advances we must make other advances first. I believe that getting to other planets will allow us to see new vistas and broaden our horizons.

A sad Christmas for retailers

Retail stores are desperate to lure shoppers during the worst holiday shopping season ever, except for the Great Depression, are cutting prices to the bone and keeping their stores open thru midnight. As the most severe recession in the last quarter century intensifies, our jobless rate is rising. This means there will be fewer consumers in the next quarter to buy from retail stores. Stores expect already weak sales to become even more so, leading to the soft summer of 2009.

Many people blame real estate for the mess we are in. Others say that things can't get worse. Well, the can and they will. Real estate prices will go down, more banks will fail, and financial armageddon will hit.

Toyota loss

Back in August 2008 when oil was $147/b and gasoline was over $4/gallon sales of the Toyota Prius were red hot. Well, yesterday I saw the owner of a used car lots, more than one. He is full of hybrid cars. Like ten Toyota Prius hybrid cars unsold and sitting there. They are not selling because gas is now under $2/gal. Sales of Ford F150 Pickup trucks is up!

Toyota reports first ever operating loss. This tells us that people are not buying hybrids; they are not buying small cars anymore, instead they are back to getting the old big ass SUV. People please, we hit peak oil in 2005. The price of oil will go up, gasoline will be rationed in the future.

After Steve Jobs who will run Apple?

Predicting the last day and hour of Steve Jobs is not easy, but we can be certain that the end is not far of. The question is - who will run Apple after Steve Jobs is gone? What we know is that when Steve left after for a while the company nearly went under. It lost it way and became bland. The company that is now famous for an i-revolution as in imac, ipod, and iphone, became boring.

Unless we get a fresh new face that promises bold new moves, then Apple will slowly fade away into the sunset when Steve Jobs is gone.

economy is worse

well, some claim all I predict is gloom and doom, want drama from sad events, but the news is very bad. Turns out the economy is worse than predicted, much worse. Many retail owners are hanging by a thread. Yesterday one retail person told me that he is planning to close down his store. He cannot pay the rent and business is slow.

The one good news is that gasoline is cheap, now under a buck and a half per gallon. This means more money in the pocket of consumers, but it will not last long, the future price of fuel is up.

Friday, December 19, 2008

Peak coal soon?

We have all heard of peak oil and how bad it is going to be. Although with gasoline close to a dollar a gallon that seems far away. Actually, we hit peak oil in 2005. However here comes an even worse problem. The move to electric cars might not be such a good idea, you see, we have a lot less coal than we thought.

OK, so peak coal is coming. What does that mean? Well, over 50% of our electricity is made burning coal, that grimy dirty fuel that we hate so much. Without coal, our technology is kaput. World coal reserves are far small than we thought. It seems like news keeps getting worse.

Tranche Warfare

The mortgage meltdown led to tranche warfare. Well, in these interesting times we see banks going under and the 750 billion bank bailout did little to prop up the financial system. In fact, our economic crisis is getting worse.

It is this inability to get loans that spread from subprime to prime to now auto loans. If people cannot buy new cars then Detroit goes under. Today prez Bush talked about an orderly bankruptcy of the big three. Back in 2005 when I predicted GM would go under the debunkers laughed, now they claim it is like shooting fish in a barrel. A barrel of what? OIL? Tell you what, oil today is under 40/b. I still remember Detroit blaming high gas prices for their troubles.

Gasoline has gone from $4.39/gallon in August 2008 to now in December 2008 a paltry $1.39/gal for gas. Tranche warfare indeed...Get ready for trouble ahead...

DOWn 100 points

The Down Jones Industrial Average was dow nearly 100 points, 99.80 to be exact and our economic crisis gets worse everyday as the global financial outlook continues deteriorating. A dramatic drop in corporate earnings means that stocks will move lower next year.

Good news is that today oil fell below 40/b and is still falling on weak demand. The OPEC record cut of 2.2 million barrels per day was not enough to turn the tide against a weak demand.

Go for the gold, not Goldman

Goldman Sachs posted its first ever loss today. Many expected it, but it is still a shock. Well, some say that the loss was far smaller than expected, but I predicted that the economic crisis would get worse. Expect things in 2009 to get worse as we move deeper into depression.

Monday, December 15, 2008

Manufacturing is Down

It is not only GM, but Ford and Chrysler are both seeing a slump. Domestic automakers slashed their rate of assembly for new cars to the lowest level in more than 18 years. Industrial Production Sags due to a diminished demand for american manufactured goods. Banks are also finding a diminished demand for auto loans, even used car lots have cut back inventory in expectation of weak Christmas sales.

Sunday, December 14, 2008

Retail sales down

It should not surprise anyone, but retail sales fell for the fifth straight month and things are getting worse as we go deeper into depression. The decline in sales will further depress growth and lead to an overall financial catstrophe.

Auto Bailout Crashes

Get ready for the DOWN Jones Industrial Average to go DOW again today. DOW component GM will go DOWn more than usual. The automobile bailout bill crashed today. Instead CNN chose to cover or shall I say uncover the fact that Jennifer MANiston is doing a magazine cover wearing only a tie.

Real news is not important, REEL news is. GM is in big trouble today, and WAGONer should build cover wagons not cars. It is time.

US jobless claims up to 26-year record

Things are getting worse. The jobless claims jump to 26-year peak and this is just the beginning of a complete collapse of the economy. This is a month when companies will typically add workers. If 2007 was mortgage meltdown, and 2008 was credit crunch, then 2009 will be economic emergency.

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

Office Depot in trouble

The business supply giant is forced to layoff over 2,000 workers and close over 100 stores to cut its losses. Office Depot in cost-saving mode plans to return to profit some time in 2010 or 2011. It plans further layoffs in 2009 and also to close six major distribution centers.

Tuesday, December 09, 2008

Going DOWn

Right now our DOWN Jones Industrial Average is DOW 250 points and sadly our skies will continue to darken as black thunder clouds roll in. Well, soon shall see that as the bread lines go longer that DOWsides workers on the dole cannot spur sales or pull us our of our economic crisis.

Monday, December 08, 2008

Unemployment at 15 year high

The current situation is on a downward spiral. Job losses of over half a million last month and worry that the big three automakers could fail has sent the economic crisis into overdrive.

Sunday, December 07, 2008

The cars of the future

Perhaps they do not fly, but in a not too distant tomorrow electric cars may rule our roads. The cars of the future are going to use green technology to cut down on the contamination of our environment. What will soon happen is that breakthrough technology will allow ultracaps also known as ultracapacitors to store massive amounts of power. The big drawback of the chemical storage battery is that it is bulky, heavy, expensive, and can only be cycled several hundred times (discharge/recharge). Enter the ultracap with over one million cycles. Also the ultracap can charge in seconds rather than minutes.

The expense of an ultracap will go down as the technology becomes more established see how SSD replaced HD.

Worst job loss in 34 years

The numbers are horrible with the biggest monthly job loss in 34 years. Sales are way down and firms are cutting back on spending. What little good news the drop in oil prices is due to economic slowdown and financial meltdown. It is truly a crisis.

Google crushes microsoft

The news is in and it could not be much worse for micro soft. Giant Google is stomping on it like a day old doughnut. The biggest blow is that MicroSoft did even worse in search than Yahoo. I expect Balmer to resign. He can start by taking a one dollar per year salary like the head of GM. In fact, micro soft is turning into the GM of the internet.

Both sears and k-mart had massive losses as we move deeper into recession. The losses at sears were worse than expected. People are finally waking up to reality. The future I see is grim.

Monday, December 01, 2008

Construction down

The housing market instead of turning around went still lower, manufacturing is at a 26 year, and the stock market is DOWn again - over 400 points right now.

Stocks fall sharply as Christmas sales are way down and consumers worry that we are in a deflationary depression. The DOWnward spiral is getting worse.

americas forests are dying

Sad to say, but our forests are being destroyed by the Emerald Ash Borer beetle. The initial infestation started in Michigan near Detroit but has since spread to neighbor states. Millions of trees are dead and millions more are at risk due to a pernicious beetle from China.

SSD is here

The solid state drive is faster than a regular hard drive; it uses less electricity and in the future will be cheaper than the magnetic platter. IBM made hard drives back in the 50's and they steadily improved the design.

Because it has no moving parts the micron SSD is ideal for laptops. I predicted that SSD would replace HD and it is taking place.

Feeling blue about bluray

At one time bluray was supposed to take over. The HD movie formats would kill the DVD, but instead here we are in 2008 and we see that few bluray burners are selling, few big plasma television sets are selling, and few bluray movies are being bought. At Office Depot a single blank bluray disk costs $25, but for $9.95 you can buy a spindle with 100 DVDs, that less than a dime a disk.

This will be a blue Christmas for bluray, Sony again manages to pull defeat from the jaws of victory with an overpriced format. Due to the current economic crisis people are not willing to spend big bucks on fancy expensive electronics that offer slightly better resolution.

Financial Collapse

Major financial institution are facing catastrophic collapse. The FDIC may soon run out of money to insure depositors. This could cause a run on the banks as the economic crisis cause by mortgage meltdown turns into a raging firestorm of destruction.

Using remote viewing many seers are prediction the demise of our current system. People are near a state of panic and never have things been so grim. On a more positive note, hdrkid has an HDR how to ebook.

Youtube is on the bandwagone with high definition videos. First it was vimeo with free HD, actually 720p, then came Viddler with 1080i, but the big master Youtube is now going to move to 960 pixel format. The future is here.

Citi never sleeps?

Today the gov says that it will give 20 billion to Citi and cover 300 billion in bad loans. Well, those 20 billion come from the bank bailout fund. Already, this year the gov gave Citi 25 billion, but that was not enough. The big banks continue to fall. First it was mortgage meltdown and now we see that the whole financial system is heading toward catastrophic collapse - our economic crisis will get worse, far worse!

Automakers Bankrupt

The Wall Street Journal says that the big three automakers are bankrupt. Mind you I said the sam back in 2005 and many chose to laugh at me. I told them that their laughter would turn into tears. Congress refused to give the big three more money.

Speaking on money, Citigroup says it is for sale. The big bank lost half its value this week, 30% just yesterday. This should give you a small sample of how bad things are.

Thursday, November 20, 2008

Dow Dives

We have a terrible situation. The Down Jones Industrial Average is DOW again today. Things are falling apart. Hold on to your seats. This biggest bank Citigroup is down about 50% in just the last four days. They plan to cut 52,000 jobs.

A very different Detroit

At one time, Henry Ford put the world on wheels with the Model T-Ford. It was an inexpensive affordable car in a world were most vehicles were made for the rich. However, Ford Motors may soon see the end of the road.

Nationalizing Detroit is pain, but it will save the auto industry. People need to look beyind the now and see a new greener Detroit that makes enery efficient vehicles. The big SUV truck of the 90's will give way to new microcars and tiny automobiles that use alternate fuels and electricity for transportation.

Sacred Geometry

One area of study in the paranormal is the arena of complex ratios. Steven Gibbs uses the golden ratio to design the HDR. In fact, use of phi and other sacred geometry is quite common in his magical machines.

Many works of wonder such as the ancient architecture found in Egypt known as the Great Pyramid employ the golden ratio in its construction, as well as pi and phi ratios. This gives us a sense of the mysterious, and we wonder why these ratios are so important in our modern world.

Why Detroit failed

Think big as in Hummer, that supersize SUV with its 7 mpg fuel ratio made many switch to small cars like the Toyota Prius that advertises 45mpg, but I can do about 71.8mpg without too much trouble. Here is a list of ten cars that sank Detroit.

Trouble for Detroit

Giant automaker GM says they are running out of money and bailout seems less likely. Well, there is no Plan B, and if the gov bailout fails, then what?

Detroit may see a grim future if all three automakers fail. The gloomy news gets worse as the economic crisis enters its recession phase. I predict difficult days are ahead.

Parallel universes are real

End of the roads for GM cars?

Analysts claim that GM will run out of money sometime in 2009. President Obama wants to rescue the giant automotive manufacturer that he calls the backbone of america. However, there some that say that a bailout can't save GM.

GM, maker of the iconic Hummer, faces a grim future. We cannot ignore the current reality. You don't need a HDR time machine from Steven Gibbs to see the future. As the government prints more and more green pieces of paper; those pieces of paper will lose their value. My wish is to invest in gold. Gold is real and had retained its value for centuries. Many companies that are around now, will not be, in the future.

Apple Iphone is king

I made the prediction many years ago that Apple Computers would go into the phone business with an Iphone. And that it would be a big success. I even predicted the year of the Iphone as 2007 and said that it would rule in 2009.

Well, Apple is king with Iphone, and it is going to dominate the market in 2009 as predicted. The debunkers that said that Motorola would crush crapple and make apple sauce out of them were wrong. It is Motorola that is in trouble. The mighty RAZR has lost its edge.

Monday, November 10, 2008

Short Circuit City goes under

I predicted that Circuit City would go BANKRUPT and it did. The once mighty consumer electronics retailing giant has run out of cash. Well, many are saying that it was obvious, however only a few months ago they were laughing at my prediction of a deflationary depression. Time to stop laughing.

Small scale mini nukes in the future?

Miniature nuclear reactors could be the bright light of tomorrow. The produce electricity of about a dime a kilowatt/hour and can serve 10,000 homes. The cost of a mininuke is 25 million dollar, but that is much less than a comparable coal fired plant.

This is the wave of the future. People want power and we will see more emphasis on small scale generators in the days to come.

more banks fail

As predicted, more banks are going under. Today federal authorities seized Franklin Bank and Security Pacific. This is a bad sign, because even with the 750 billion dollar bank bailout, we still have falling banks.

Yesterday the market was down over 400 points, and the day before over 500 points, and today it rebounded almost 250 points. The economy is in a tail spin. If we lose GM, millions of jobs will be lost due to the pivotal role that GM plays. Time is of essence and the people must realize that things are falling apart.

Who will win?

Today is election day. People are gathering at the polls. We will see history made today. Yes, our science tells us that we cannot see the future, but what if we can? Then we would see a fork in the road; two paths that lead to very different futures. The Hyper Dimensional Resonator built by Steven Gibbs is the tool to see our path. On this historic occasion a new chapter is written in American history. Which road will we travel? Today we decide.

GM bankruptcy or bailout?

It seems that some say a GM bankruptcy is better than bailout. Unlike the Chrysler bailout of 1979, this time things are different, because GMAC is similar to a bank. In fact, we could say that part of the 750 billion in the bank bailout should be used to shore up GMAC and preserve the network of suppliers that feed the giant automaker.

OK, so in other news, Short Circuit City cannot get Sony products, in fact, the truck were stopped midshipment and told to make a U-turn. This company has been in trouble for some time now. They will no doubt also go under.

Importance of a made to measure suit in getting a job

Why get a tailor made suit?
Well, in today's ultracompetitive job market, candidates cannot afford to seem ordinary. You have to stand out above the rest of the crowd. With millions of resumes and thousands of interviews, an HR person is pressured to make quick decisions. After a while the sea of suits turns into a blur. You have to have more than just a stellar resume; your appearance must convey a high degree of professionalism.

If your suit is a $99 off the rack special, then it will send the message that you do not really care about the job. An ill fitting mediocre suit in the mind of an employer equals a mediocre employee whose work habits will be as sloppy as the clothes they wear. A made to measure suit can be the difference between success and failure. Remember, you can never be too professional.

Traditional attire will help convince an employer that you are the right fit for their enterprise. In the financial sector many casual Friday folks are finding out that they are on the exit list. The move is now toward a more responsible and higher caliber candidate.

You need to get a dull gray wool suit that sends a message. The message is you are the real deal. If your salary is over 100K, the few stable financial sector companies that can hire you expect a great deal more than just years of experience. They want a person that has an aura of greatness about them. That could be you, but first you must look and act the part. A Made to Measure suit will add that extra sparkle that will convince your future employer to hire you and not someone else. So, make an appointment today.

Effect of economic crisis on technology

The market fell below 9,000 today, but prices are great. I was able to get a quad core AMD opteron PC desktop fully loaded for under $500. A regular PC at office depot was selling for $249.

I saw a USB 1TB drive going for under 200. It is sad that the economy is so bad. These prices are like a dream. Some people still remember the days of $3,000 laptops with tiny hard drives.

GM seeks bailout

GM affected by mortage meltdown has trouble with auto loans, sales down and economic crisis made worse by unemployment. They want government assistance to merge with Chrysler and cut down on expenses. There merger would bring more layoffs to an already troubled part of the automotive sector.

I predicted that GM would go bankrupt and now we see that it is in worse shape than we imagined. The bailout would only prolong the agony. GM has been losing money for years. It cannot sell the supersized Hummer or any of its giant dinosaurs, which should become EXTINCT!

Obama believes in redistribution of wealth

He says that the tragedy of the civil rights movement was it did not redistribute wealth.

Warren Buffet needs new crystal ball

Warren Buffet bought too early he need to a get a new crystal ball. The market will still go down from here. The reason is fear. People are losing jobs, and those with jobs cannot get loans. The so called mild recession is turning into a deep depression.

If we cannot see it now, take a look at what is happening in asia where factories are idle due to global economic crisis and financial meltdown; warren can see into the future, but he needs a new crystal ball.

Sales for Volvo Trucks down 99.7%

The drop in sales from 41,970 in the third quarter of 2007 to just 115 in 2008 shows us how the complete global collapse of the world financial system is affecting other countries. For over a year people have been wondering if there was going to be a recession, now we see a deep depression is ahead and our current economic crisis will get much worse.

Alex Jones is warning of food shortages in the future. People need to store food.

Financial Predictions

A web site called hubdub makes financial predictions. The goal is to use the collective wisdom of the masses to be able to forecast future events. We hope this strategy is filled with success, but I can say that there are many potential problems, one begin that most people do not have the complete picture of what is happening.

Oil price tumbles

In spite of a cut in production by OPEC, the price of oil fell to a new low today. I wish it was due to finding a new large oil field, but the truth is that our current economic crisis means demand for petroleum products is way down.

On the plus side gasoline prices are falling daily to new lows. This is good new to poor people are they were squeezed by the high price of fuel. Still, I predict shortages of food and fuel in the future. This is but a lull in the storm.

Trouble on the street

Wall Street is built on a house of cards and now those cards are falling down. The framework is so weak that a mild breeze could knock it DOWn, and we are seeing the main supports give way. Today's rebound of 172 points is nothing compared to yesterday's drop of 514 points. In fact, the Dow components are now falling further overseas as investors sell troubled US companies.

We should prepare ourselves to survive the next depression. It will be a long hard haul ahead as we face difficult days on our road to recovery. Set some supplies aside to weather the financial hurricane that will soon come on shore.

DOW dives 514 points

Market hits five year lows as analysts predict deep depression ahead. Well, now that our economy is in a tail spin the mockers claim that it was obvious. These are the same people that laughed when I predicted the fall of the banks. This ship is sinking fast.

AIG is in trouble

First AIG asks for 85 billion, then it asks for 37.9 billion, now the hand is out again for an additional 10 billion. It seems to me that all is not well, with the world's largest insurance company. As I told one and all before, the economy is crashing.

It is not just banks that are falling, insurance companies are falling. I predict that GM will go under in the future, it has lost money year after year. For example, last year it lost 39 billion, and this years sales are down from olast year, I predict that sales will be even worse in 2009 as we go deeper into depression.

The mortage meltdown led to a bank meltdown, now and insurance meltdown.

Yahoo to fire 1,500 profit down 64%

Wall Street is doing terrible, in fact, the market is going down. Today is was down over 200 points and it held above 9,000, but the mood is sour. Yahoo will fire 1,500 and profit is down 64%. This is important because people look at P/E pr price to earnings ratio. If profit falls the price will follow. I predict that you will see earning go down as we go deeper into a deflationary depression.

Taliban kill Christian woman

Taliban in Afganistan killed a British aid worker Gayle Williams, because she was Christian. She enjoyed helping disabled children. Two masked gunmen on a motorbike shot her dead. The news saddens me because this angel died trying to help others due to her belief in Jesus. She was accused of the crime of spreading Christianity. Many moslems claim that they tolerate Christians, but while there is a mosque in Rome, there are no churches in mecca.

Car runs on air and magnets

A car that runs on air and magnets seems like a great future to me. It is supposed to go into production in 2010 about the same time as the Chevy Volt. GM is having a lot of problems. Maybe the air car can use the HDR electromagnet.

Microhoo?

Steve Balmer head of Microsoft said “We offered 33 bucks not too long ago and it’s $11 today,” referring to Microsoft’s February bid of $33 a share, or $44.6 billion, which Yahoo rejected. “They probably still think it’s worth more than $33 a share.” The question I have is Why is cofounder Jerry Yang still running Yahoo? The company stock is worth 1/3 of what Microsoft was willing to pay. Stockholder should ask him to resign.

Dow in the dump

This month the dow has tumbled DOWn like a train off a cliff with the occasional bounce on the way down. We have seen terrible losses that seem right out of the Great Depression. People wonder when our stock market will hit bottom. Last Wednesday, S&P500 fell 9% in a single day our biggest percentage loss since the meltdown of 1987. Today poor economic news is making a bad situation worse.

Selling is accelerating as people dump mutual funds and buy safes to store cash. Banks are talking about imposing restrictions on cash withdrawals. Also there is talk that the government might make private ownership of gold illegal again like they did during the Great Depression. Which makes sense because analysts see a widespread global depression that may take years to exit.

The Culprits of the Collapse

You need to know who is responsible for what will soon happen. These people MORTGAGED our future on their BANKRUPT economic ideas. Things are now out of control and we are now in big trouble with our current economic crisis.

Dow down 733 points

It is like watching a slow moving train wreak. Today the dow is DOWn another 733 points. As always we feel that things will get worse. Analyst are now saying "severe recession" instead of a mild one.

In other new housing sales are the worst in 30 years and will probably get worse s well. This economic crisis was predicted by me in 2005.

Predicting the future

Many people said that drive in movie theaters would all go under in the future due to home cinema and large plasma TV, but even with cheap HD LCD TV the drive in is still going strong. In fact, drive in movie theaters are going through a rebirth.

It is important to see that the future is not "common sense" or as easy to see as one would want. Many said that high fuel prices would make the drive in go under; others said that new digital IMAX screens would kill the smaller less sophisticated cinemas; however, this has not happened. Predicting the future is not as easy as it seems.

I have seen many of the new IMAX cinemas go under and people like the nostalgia of the drive in where they met their future wife. A giant 3D screen of an IMAX seems too technological and in many ways we yearn for simpler times.

Things are icy in Iceland

The government of Iceland nationalised the banks and makes it difficult to get foreign currency. It attempts to prevent the flight of money from the frigid nordic nation and lets us see what our future might look like. Listen

Worldm in crisis

If you think things are bad now, please remember the great depression and WWII. It could be a lot worse. Back in the 40's the US fought on two fronts. Pull together and we can survive.

recession?

Back in 2007 I predicted that in 2008 we would have an increase in the price of oil and that this would trigger a recession - IT DID!

Because all the money went to pay for food and fuel people could not make payments on houses and foreclosures did increase causing banks to fall. This fall of banks did collapse the economy. Well, now gas is cheaper; however, the damage is done.

``We're in this self-reinforcing negative cycle,'' said Mark Zandi, chief economist at the West Chester, Pennsylvania-based Moody's Economy.com. ``It's going to be a very significant recession.''

I predict that we will see oil go back up in the future as supplies run out and people will be in worse shape in 2009 than they are now economically. Get ready, brace yourselves for impact it will be a hard landing.

Apple Stock Plunges

Apple stock plunged on rumors that Steve Jobs had a heart attack. The sick looking gaunt Jobs looks like he will go any minute now. It was reported that he was in the hospital, but Apple Computer denies the rumor. Perhaps photos of a deathly ill Steve Jobs will be on the net soon?

Wack Fargo?

WACKovia and Wells Fargo might merge. When wacovia was in trouble, a white knight by the names of citigroup came to the rescue, but later another lover appeared. This love triangle is getting messy. Wells Fargo claims it is willing to pay more for the bank.

The CEO of WACKovia wants the new deal, his name is Rob Steal, interesting name for a banker.

CDS financial timebomb

Credit Default Swaps are a financial timebomb because they hide the risk of a loan and because they are not regulated as such. The problem is that these weapons of mass financial destruction are now destroying our economy. What we see is only the tip of the iceberg and in a few days we might face even greater challenges as the economy falls apart.
