Clinton moves ahead of McCain and Obama

In the latest poll Clinton is ahead of both McCain and Obama. Her win in Penn did cause a shift in popular opinion. She is now ahead again and going into Indiana against an embattled Obama who cannot shake loose from Rev Wright and race.

Expect stuning developments. I predict Clinton as the next president.

Home prices down 12.7% in Feb

The decline countinues in real eastate with home prices down 12.7% in US as banks refuse to give loans and foreclosures are being auctioned off at fire sale valuations. A vten city index set a record monthly fall of 13.6% and prices are still falling.

Debunkers now say "That was obvious", but in 2005 I sounded the alarm and told people about the real estate bubble and mortgage meltdown. The dumber than dogdirt debunkers told me that all I predict is gloom and doom.

Well, now I predict shortages of food & fuel in the future.

rebate is 2 little 2 late

The tax rebates are too little and too late to avoid a recession. Well, as usual we are, a day late and a dollar short. Sad, actually that we could not dodge the ball on this one.

High gas hits home

The era of cheap credit, cheap food and cheap energy is over. We must now work in a world where food & fuel are expensive and hard to get. Bank losses from the mortgage meltdown are over one trillion dollars and on the automotive front GM says that big SUVs are not selling.

The cost of wheat has doubled in one year and rice is at a record high. Worldwide rice shortage has forced Walmart to ration rice. As for oil I see shortages in the days ahead. John Titor told people "get a bicycle!"

When I predicted high price for food and fuel the debunkers laughed. Are they laughing now?

Quakes in Nevada

A series of earthquakes in Reno Nevada has residents worried. The quakes are getting worse. It seems like something bad is happening. Perhaps we will see a bad quake in the future.

FBI says torture is illegal

FBI is against using torture for interrogation. The technique does not work and can lead to a false sense of security. Studies show that prisoners will say anything to avoid torture. The quality of information obtained is very poor.

Clinton leads in Penn

Clinton is ahead in Pennsylavania and Obama is doing well among blacks. The small town vote was lost due to comments about poor white being bitter and clinging to religion. The comments have come back yo haunt him.

Citi reports 15 billion loss

Citigroup is reporting a loss of 15 billion dollars due to poor perfomance of its loans. What was once confined to subprime mortages has spread to regular residential, commercial, automobile, boat, and even credit cards. Citi sees further declines in the residential real estate market and as we move into recession more problems with its loans as people become unable to repay them.

Solution for high gas prices

Today, I paid $3.66/gal gas and another station was at $3.72/gal the prices are super high. Actually, when I was in Eurpose I paid a lot more for gasoline. They are paying over a pound per litre in England for petrol and I see the prices going higher.

My solution is getting a scooter. I got one in 2006 and getting about 150mpg which is great. Also, there is no tag or insurance to pay. Right now car insurance is over $1000/yr and going higher. Also scooters are just plain fun.

A scooter store owner told me that they are selling like hotcakes and he cannot keep them in stock. I see a bight future for scooters.

Future House

Many imagine a dome home and robots. Yes, this comes, but what about the near term? Future houses will look like modern offices and less like places to raise children.

With telecommuting we see a merger of home and work to create a "homoff" that become more prevelant as fuel prices skyrocket. The future is here!

MADE IN USA

One product that is still made in America is software. Many programmers are still working on the next killer app, but big biz wants to outsource everything and pay people 50 cents an hour.

Made in America
is more than a dream, it is possible and with a weak dollar probable. We need to fight for our jobs and stop the oursoucers. Our future is on the line.

Housing woes

LuckyOliver: Showing my new house 3
A realtor told me today that the only people buying are investors who have cash and they are paying fire sale prices on properties. The banks are no loaning money and nobody is building. Big bank WaMu is getting ready to writeoff another 14 billion in delinquent loans.

There was another big selloff on Wall Street, this time General Electric was hit - shocking news!

Americam Airlines cancelled 600 more flights, over 200,000 fliers are stranded and Froteir declared bankruptcy, a typical day on Wall Street.

Trade Deficit grows

Yes, they said a strong dollar was bad for us, but a weak dollar was good because it would reduce the trade deficit. WELL, the trade deficit grew, who knew. It is a bad sign that the US dollar has dropped to 2/3 of its former value against the euro, and I say that the dollar will drop even more.

High gas hits hard

Today I paid $3.64/gal and the pain is being felt all over. Gas shot up to as high as $3.69/gal near my old place back in Feb, but come March it dropped down to $3.09 and now it is back above $3.50 and rising. I predict that we may be paying $4/gal for gas in 2009. Future oil prices will be a lot higher than now.

Please remember that in Jan 2007 I was paying $1.87/gallon and now the price is almost twice. Now that gasoline prices are at a new record high sales of scooters are increaing. Expect prices to race in the road ahead.

Big Bank in trouble

The biggest savings and loan, Washington Mutual, got a cash infusion of seven billion. It will report a loss of over one billion. The biggest S&L WaMu is in trouble because house prices are falling. I talked to a realtor yesterday and he told me prices are in free fall; because banks do not loan money, you must pay cash for a house. As a result you are seeing prices tumble out of control.

Big banks are seeing more and more loans go bad as people are unable to pay loans due to a poor economy. Also the high future oil price means less money will be available for other things.

In the future, I see further housing price erosion as the economy gets worse and more people lose their jobs. The banks are now dumping foreclosed houses on an already saturated market, and they want cash.

AMD jumps ahead

Many were critical of AMD when it bought ATI in 2006, but this was a critical move. Now AMD had a chip that combines graphics and low current draw. It will allow an AMD laptop to play a full length HD movie. All the chips Intel has draw too much current. The new laptops will be ready by the end of this year.

I predict that HD laptops will become a hot item.

Police Raid Polygamists

A raid by police on a small texas town of the polygamist compound was due to alleged marriage of a 16 year old to an older man. I hope this does not turn in to a Waco incident. Sadly we remember what happened in another Texas town, Waco, where many innocent childern died.

C4 in 64 bits on windows only

Adobe Photoshop C4 will be in 32 bit version for the apple, not in 64 bit mode. The 64 bit version is for windows only and it will be certified to work only in Vista, although Adobe says it should work in XP.

This is important because the apple computer is a favorite of graphics artists and now they are at a disadvange. Perhaps Adobe will eventually release a version of Photoshop for the apple in 64 bit mode.

Korean peninsula on the brink

The peoples democratic republic of north korea - NK military says that it will turn south korea into ashes. It seems we could be on the brink of war. NK is now taking steps to prepare for war. I hope a conflict can be avoided.

These two countries are still technically in a state of war since the hostilities of the Korean War stopped in 1950's, but no formal peace treaty was ever signed.

Doomsday cult in cave

There are reports from media of a doomsday cult inside a cave. This is dis-information. Many people are aware of what is coming and taking steps to stay alive.
