Oil price drop?

Analysts forecast a drop in oil prices due to a slow down in the US economy. This is welcome news as oil now stands at $105 per barrel and rising. It hit an all time record at $111/b on March 17, 2008.

Trouble in the middle east will make future oil prices higher than now. Also a drop in the dollar will cause all prices to rise.

Live Gold

gold prices for last 30 days have been choppy. Gold rose over $1000/oz for the first time in history, but then dove down to about $900/oz and is slowly recovering. I predict that it will continue its upward trend.

California lowers emmision standards

Who killed electric car? Well, California did. They cut the number of electric cars that must be sold in 2014. The incentive for automobile manafacturers to build a zero emmisions vehicle is gone.

We were on the right track, but now the plan was derailed and we have to stick with stinky gasoline powered engines for a bit more. Oh, we were so close.....

3D camera

The idea is not new, but very interesting none the less because a 3D camera would make the world a bit less flat. This is a major advance in the field of digital technology; now we need a 3D browser to view the 3D pictures that it takes.

Antarctic Ice Sheet Collapses

The global warming guys are right. A huge block of ice the size of a small state broke off from Antarctica and did collapse into the ocean. Now scientists are worried that more ice could fall in as the ice sheet melts away. They are using satellites to track the giant ice mass in the ocean.

Microhoo?

Citogroup hears a Microhoo as the merger is on. It is possible that in this tough economic time that the merger of Yahoo and Microsoft may face a few snags, but this is the only chance the Redmond giant has to compete with Google.

US death toll in Iraq 4,000

This terrible tragedy seems to never go away, now we see that the US death toll in Iraq has reached 4,000. It is sad to remember that I once fortold that we would invade Iraq and later there would be an iranian invasion. The bitter fruits of the first we now harvest.

Saddam Hussein was not responsible for 911, nor did he fund Obama. The Iraq war was a total tragedy were 4000 brave soldiers lost their lives. This grim milestone comes after five years of war.

Bankrupt Banks

Bear Stearns is just the beginning. The monetary markets are in trouble and banks are bracing for financial catastrophe. Ben Bernake of the Fed is trying to bailout the banks, but the economic situation is getting worse by the minute.

As nervous investors pull money out of US banks the gov may have to freeze accounts and allow only limited withdrawals.

Coal 2 Fuel Plant

The military wants coal to fuel plant to resuce dependence on foreign oil. This is the clean coal we have been hearing about. Will it work? YES, we have a 500 year supply of coal and we can create synfuel at a good price. The problem is that each plant cost several billion dollars.

Future of Fuel

The price of oil finally go down below $100/barrel, but projections are that by this summer we could see gasoline at near four dollars a gallon. Detroit has long had a love affair with large automobiles, but the future is small cars are we get used to prices over $5/gal for gas.

Already in England many are paying over one pound per litre of petrol this would be the equivalent of more than $8/gal for gas. The solution is electric cars. We already have cars like the Toyota Prius plug in hybrid and soon the Chevy Volt. I see many future fuels like biodiesel and ethanol helping bridge the transition to electric cars.

Clinton extends lead over Obama

In shocking news Clinton is pulling ahead in the race. It seems that her support among white men has grown in previous days. Obama still have over 90% of the black vote. This race is about race. I think that it is great that women are finally gaining positions of power. The future of women is bright.

Citigroup to lay off 2,000 traders

Trouble at the biggest US bank. It seems that Citigroup will lay off 2,000 investment bankers and traders. This news could not come at a worse time with the US going into a major recession. This is scheduled to happen before the end of March and this will affect the economy. We see more and more firms cutting back. The financial sector is sinking.

Methane detected on distant planet

Wednesday, scientists found methane an organic molecule on a distant planet. The question is - do we have life on this distant planet? Sara Seager, a planetary theorist of MIT calls it “another great day for exoplanets,” The planet in question is known as HD 189733b.

This could be the big break we have been waiting for. Perhaps we are not alone in the universe.

Microhoo?

Google's fear is microzoo an odd assortment of wild animals that roar. Still, Google controls about 70% of search and soon it will be 80%. Yahoo/Microsoft are losing market share not gaining. The problem is that they were asleep at the wheel while Google was busy.

Well, now Google has declared war against Microhoo and this will get interesting. This battle seems to be going in the direction of Google as it gains market share of search and slowly enters other sectors of the internet market.

Resources to Rebuild Your Credit

Having bad credit is a terrible thing. Many young students are not wise and lose their credit due to careless mistakes. Paying late or not paying at all can ruin your life later on. Well, there is a second chance. A company called BADCREDITOFFERS has a list of the top ten credit cards for people with poor financial histories.

When traveling abroad it is important to have a credit card to rent a car, get a hotel, and even for tours. Not having good credit can be a great limitation. It is important to begin to rebuild your credit as soon as possible so you can later buy a car and a house.

In addition to credit cards, Badcreditoffers also has a list of companies offering home loans, auto loans, and personal loans to people with less-than-perfect financial histories. Right now banks are making getting a credit card more difficult. This is a great resource for people with poor credit that need bad credit credit cards. Delta cuts its workforce by 2,000

Delta airlines has been forced to cut its employee headcount by 2000 due to high fuel prices. Jet fuel is a type of keroscene which powers the large aircraft used by the huge carrier.

The price of jetfuel A has been going up and up as the dollar drops and we face peak oil. Delta sees the future as gloomy and we now see why. The cost of fuel will continue to increase in the coming years.

One solution is to go back to propeller planes. These are more noisy and slower, but also more fuel efficient.

330 mpg hybrid car

The hybrid aptera gets 330 mpg and can cross the Us on a single tank of fuel. This is the future. We need automobiles that can go the distance. This three-wheel, two-passenger vehicle that looks like a cross between a motorcycle and a helicopter was first built in 2006. It uses the latest composite technology and is super efficient.

For many years we have put up with 20 mpg and thought that 200 was impossible, but now we see that 300 is possible. The car look right out of a science fiction movie, but it is real.

Fed cuts rates tomorrow

I predict that the Fed will cut interest rates tomorrow because the economy is going into a tailspin. We have now major banks failing and the public is pulling money out and buying gold. This cannot go on. The fed is in trouble and now we see that the financial health of the nation is in peril.

Funny money?

Well, we have some funny fives that look purple. Atleast they are not as bad as the terrible orangeback ten that looks like monopoly money. How much colorful candy currency can we take? Our dollar bills look so fake these days like plastic videogame tokens or play money.

Well, today tha dollar sank to a new low against the euro and a twelve year low against the yen. Gold rose today to a record high and broke the $1000/oz mark and oil rose to a record high of $111/barrel.

Ferraro quits Clinton Campaign

Geraldine Ferraro has quit due to attacks from the Obama people. She said that Obama is a lightweight and would not be where he is if he were white. This comment ignited a firestorm of controversy.

In fact, she was forced to quit. I believe that people should know that Ferraro was the VP running with Mondale in 1984. She was the first woman VP and her comments are that Obama does not have the experience to be president.

Clinton offers Obama VP

Clinton asked Obama to be part of a dream ticket. The junions senator from Illinois is not interested in the number two position. I wonder why this is. Perhaps he wants the fight to go on.

We will soon see what happens as the democrats will choose who will lead. This is a critical moment when the party must decide its leader.

Dollar at all time low

In the markets the dollar hit an all time low against the euro. The decline in the dollar has not just hurt the US due to higher prices, the eurozone is suffering due to a decline in trade as their goods are being too expensive.

First housing was affected, now the entire economy is in trouble and now we see that the decline in the dollar is affecting the whole world. I predict that people will move to precious metals in an attempt to hold value.

No Jobs?

Well, we now have the worst decline in jobs in five years with the economy going into a deep decline this February. The combo of record foreclosures, record high oil and a declining dollar have sent the US economy into a tail spin. It was another down day for the dow losing over 100 points. It did not hold above 12,000 as predicted. We will soon see a market meltdown as the stock go into free fall.

Things are so bad that the eurozone economy is being affected. The decline in the dollar has made European goods more expensive in the US, and the slowdown inthe US economy has reduced the hunger for luxury cars and other high price items from Europe.

With the whole world staggering under record high oil prices and now record high prices for grains, both food and fuel have become expensive as predicted. I predict shortages of both food & fuel in the future.

A down day on Wall Street

The market was DOWn today more than 200 points on credit worries. Also the Times Square NYC bombing made investors nervous as to the world scene. It is a very rocky road ahead for the market with record high oil prices and a drop in the dollar. Although the DOW managed to hold above 12,000, I predict that the stock market will soon tumble below 11,000.

Explosion in Times Square NYC

Times Square was a scene of chaos as an explosive device was detonated in the heart of New York City. A military recruiting station in Times Square was the target of the explosion. Police are investigating to see if terrorists were involved.

Clinton wins Ohio & Texas

Clinton win of delegate rich Texas and Ohio has the Obama people very worried. They angry Obama seems to finally show his true nature. He was very angry about Clinton's win with voters over 65, all those comments about McCain being too old did not help him, and the strong showing Hillary had among women and latins helped her broaden her appeal.

Gold will go over 1000 soon

As predicted, gold will soar above $1000/oz soon. A previous prediction of silver over $20/oz has already come true. A dramatic drop in the dollar is sending the metals ever higher. We will soon see both gold & silver in record territory, expect a big rise in price.

Dow dives 316 points

Some say it is the high price of oil which is now over $100 each barrel of the crude. Others say that the dramatic drop in the dollar has triggered the dive the the DOW. I say that the decline in earnings is the factor. Look at the 29.5 billion dollar loss from Sprint Nextel. This is the reason we see stock prices going into a tailspin.

In other news a strike did cause 16,000 GM workers to be laid off. The automotive giant had a 39 billion dollar loss last year its biggest in history. Let me get you up to speed on what is happening the execs at American Axel want to cut workers wages from $28 an hour down to $14/hr, yes in 1/2 of what they are now. Well. gasoline is going up, food prices are going up, but wages are going down.
